About The Company
Seeds for Special Needs was an idea that started during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic after realizing that caregivers may benefit from more resources to better support their children’s unique needs at home.
Madeha Ayub, owner of Seeds for Special Needs, is a Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) as well as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS). She has done extensive work in supporting the sensory needs of children of all ages across various settings. Her dedication to empowering these brilliant young minds led her to create the Sensory Support Series, with “Before the Brave Bite” as its inaugural book.
Through her work and being a parent to a sensory sensitive child, Madeha aims to provide parents with tangible steps to support their sensory sensitive children to develop functional skills, in a world that may not always fully understand their unique needs.
In this website, you’ll get more information on our sensory book and where to purchase it, downloadable free digital resources, as well as access to numerous blog posts.
Disclaimer: I apologize if the term special needs may be perceived as an offense to our neurodivergent community nor is it in line with a neurodiversity confirming approach. The term here is for children with or without disablities; as each child has their own unique and special needs. We will strive to continue spreading love and inclusivity.
Meet Madeha
Madeha Ayub is your typical city girl, born and raised in the heart of NYC with a love for street food and rustic coffee shops. Madeha has always had a soft spot for children with special needs and autism which led her to become a Pediatric Occupational Therapist as well as a Certified Child Life Specialist. Not sure if it started with that 8-year old boy with autism who fascinated her with his memory of their first encounter or the first grader with ADHD who never forgot how to pronounce her name after hearing it once (which no one gets right by the way). However which way it started, Madeha knows she has dedicated her career to helping these brilliant children learn the functional skills to become more independent in a world that may not always support their needs.
More About Me:
Outside of her professional work, Madeha enjoys traveling to the beautiful corners of the world with her husband, Asim and their two adventurous little humans, both under five years.
But oftentimes, she enjoys traveling to the past just as much, through writing memoirs and scrapbooking. Rainy days are her favorite, especially when she gets to listen to the sound of downpour on her back porch while drinking a warm cup of chai with a touch of cardamom.
